TASTING NOTES FROM THE BREWER
Saison as a style is traditionally a farmhouse beer drank during harvest season in the border region of Belgian and France. This beer, however, askes the question of what could that style have looked like if it originated in the Sichuan Province of China?
On the nose you are first hit with the floral earthy Sichuan peppercorn aroma, intermingled with orangey citrus and hints of anise. That first sip carries those spices through onto the tongue, combining them with the fruity and peppery characters of the saison yeast and finishes on the palate incredibly dry and spritzy. A very refreshing beer on a hot summer day, a fun and interesting flavour combo and a great drink to pair with food.

Colliding of worlds. Using New Zealand ingredients in a Mexican style lager
TASTING NOTES FROM THE BREWER
Long hot days demand a crisp refreshing lager and nothing says lawnmower beer more than a Mexican cerveza. Pouring a crisp pale straw colour, this beer looks exactly how you would expect it to as its passed across the bar but as you raise it to your nose you catch something distinctly different, a light note of lemon and lime? No fruit wedge in the neck of the bottle needed, the subtle hopping with Kiwi hops brings all the citrus you could want. Combine this with an ethereally light body, created by the addition of corn and agave syrup, it creates incredible drinkability and encourages you to keep taking that next sip. ¡Salud!

American brewing history, the invention of an American classic and the Anchor brewing company
TASTING NOTES FROM THE BREWER
The story of the steam beer is born from the migration of European immigrants to California in the 1800s. These German brewers brought with them lots of brewing know how, but their new home brought difficult conditions which required them to make changes to their traditional processes. Limited access to cooling meant that brewers had to ferment their lager yeast warmer than usual, leading to the birth of an American classic. Our version is fairly faithful to tradition, pouring a light amber and presenting with the soft but distinctive scents of toasted malt and subtle caramel. An easy drinking beer with plenty to love for those who like a little bit of malt.
